Music Mind Technology Brain

Music Mind Technology Brain I don’t have a definition of music to tell you exactly. The meaning of music can vary from person to person. Let’s just say that music doesn’t make you depressed and depressed. Music is a tune or a wave that does not make you feel lonely.

The structure of music itself is mathematical. The construction of frequency, rhythm, and notes is based on science and mathematics. The combination of different tunes and rhythms creates a beautiful piece of music. Then, the technology is also used for sound recording, editing, mixing, and mastering.

This is a topic related to music production and technology. But technology is also connected to the distribution and consumption of music. Radio, television, cassettes, CDs, MP3s, and the current streaming platforms are examples of this.

Before I go further, let me give you some examples of the relationship between technology and music.

Example 1

If you are interested in guitar, you must have heard the name Jimi Hendrix. If not, know that he is a famous guitarist of the 1960s. His relationship is more with electric guitars and amplifiers. By creating new sounds on the guitar, like distortion and feedback, he established it as a new genre of music. Which was not possible without technology.

Example 2

The famous musical band (musical group) Beatles (Beatles) is equally loved by Nepali people. John Lennon, the original singer of this band, made a song with the lyrics ‘Now and Then.’ Which remained unfinished for a long time. But the song was completed long after his death. This song has now been released. For this, the band used artificial intelligence (AI).

Example 3

If you are a fan of rap music, you must have heard about American rapper T-Pain. Along with him, auto-tune technology is also in discussion. This is a technique that tunes your voice into tune. In his hit songs like ‘Bartender’ and ‘Buy You a Drunk,’ he has used Auto-Tune extensively. This technique is also used by our artists.

Now, let’s finish the example. There are many such examples. Let’s talk about the changes in music listening technology and trends:

From offline to online

Now, you can listen to/watch the radio and television online. But going back some time ago, these mediums were offline. That’s why I called the previous time offline.

Listening to music at that time was dependent on physical media like radio, TV, cassettes, CDs, etc. It was also slow to discover new songs. Mainly, there was limited space or equipment to listen to songs.

Nowadays, songs from all over the world can be easily heard through platforms like Spotify, Apple Music, and YouTube. Since these platforms are online, the song can be heard at any time. It is also easy to find new artists because of their algorithms.

What this suggests is that we have countless options for listening. Which genre of song to listen to? How do you hear? Which country to listen to? When to listen? What subject to listen to?

Panktikar himself listens to the song according to the time and context. Since Panktikar is a representative character of the present time, it can be assumed that there has been a radical change in the process of listening to songs now.

What is the last song you listened to?

This question is getting complicated. Because the song is easy to listen to, it is becoming like a person’s support. It cannot be said that the development of technology has brought many changes in the listening habits of the audience. Earlier, special time had to be reserved for listening to songs.

Be it on the radio, cassette player, or live concert. It was customary to listen to music attentively and connect emotionally. But with the advent of the digital age, the habit of listening to music in the background and listening to other work is increasing.

Now let’s talk about creation and originator:

The expansion of technology has changed not only the habits of listeners to listen to music but also the meaning of music itself and the concept of artists.

Earlier music was considered purely artistic expression. Artists used to express their feelings and artistic messages through songs/music. Nowadays, the trend of making playlists according to mood, activity, or theme has increased. It can be seen on streaming platforms like Spotify.

But it has changed music from being merely a means of entertainment or a medium to be placed in the background. Let’s say that music is no longer just an art. It has become a weapon used to keep a person’s emotional or mental state in the same state.

Most of the listeners first watch the song video or TikTok clip, and only then do they start listening to the song. This is the current reality. This has forced musicians to spend time and resources on visual content to attract listeners.

Earlier it was very difficult for an audience to meet the singers. But now, because of social media, it is so easy to know what the artist is doing. Earlier, where the song reached the listeners now the creator is reaching the listeners.

In particular, listeners want to know not only the artist’s songs but also his personal life, style, and personality. Technology has greatly helped in this work. So!

Although there are positive aspects, the development of technology has brought some negative effects on music. It has already been mentioned in the above paragraph that nowadays, millions of songs are uploaded. Even when there are too many songs, it is difficult for listeners to choose which one to listen to. Even if you listen to it, there is a habit of listening only to songs that are trending in the market. Due to this, good artists may be overshadowed, and it becomes more difficult for talented new artists to get a chance.

Even famous artists like Taylor Swift have expressed their displeasure about this. Although the number of people coming to music is higher, it is still financially challenging to make music a profession. That’s why artists have to sell merchandise in addition to live concerts.

Moreover, online piracy (theft) is a big challenge to the music industry. A situation has arisen where artists cannot say that their creations are mine. Now Shirish Khadka, the creator of songs like ‘Chihanki Pari’ and ‘Bajr,’ has become a victim of this. He is a representative example of online piracy.

It is a bitter truth that in the digital world, artists are not getting enough financial benefits as songs can be easily downloaded or shared/uploaded illegally. Its direct impact is sure to be seen in creativity and quality.

In general, listening to all genres of songs/music, be it K-pop or African beats, Latin pop, or all Nepali languages, is now very easy. Some artists have become successful without the help of a record label. Listeners can also listen to songs according to their preferences.

In conclusion, music is no longer limited to the art of playing instruments or singing, it has become part of a technological revolution that is created with the help of technology and is constantly changing.
