100 Gbps Data Traffic Was Added To The Telecom Network On The First Day After The Ban On TikTok Was Lifted The data consumption of Nepal Telecom has increased by 100 Gbps on the first day of implementation of the government’s decision to remove the ban on Tiktok. The company’s managing director, Sangeeta Pahari, said that the data consumption was encouraging on the first day (last Saturday) after the ban on Tiktok was lifted.
According to him, before the ban on TikTok, i.e., before 27 October 2080, the app consumed up to 200 Gbps of data on Telecom’s wireless network.
“Removing the ban on Tiktok in terms of data pack sales is a good thing for the service provider company in the context of declining income due to OTT services,” she said in a conversation with Tekpana, “on the first day, the 50 percent bandwidth consumption before the ban has been restored. It may take a few days to return to the old position.”
When the government led by then Prime Minister Pushpa Kamal Dahal ‘Prachanda’ banned Tiktok, both Telecom and Ncell companies had to lose about three billion rupees in income. After the ban on TikTok is lifted, it is expected that it will be easier for companies to maintain their income.
