Wife Killed Due To Argument Over Not Recharging Internet, A husband killed his wife in Bara due to a dispute over the non-recharge of Wi-Fi. According to the police, 46-year-old Bimal Kumar Basnet killed his 40-year-old wife Lakshmi Rai with a khurpa in Nijgarh Municipality-9 of Bara on Tuesday.
According to the details of the incident, Basnet returned home after drinking alcohol around 8:00 p.m. At the same time, there was a fight between the husband and wife about the Wi-Fi recharge being over.
A dispute started between the husband and wife regarding the issue of Wi-Fi,” DSP Prakash Sapkota, Information Officer of District Police Office Bara, told Tekpana. “The internet recharge has been completed for four days; the husband told the wife that he has no money to recharge. When the wife reacts, saying that there will be money to drink but no money to recharge, the husband will leave.”
During the dispute, Basnet hit his wife with a khurpa. DSP Sapkota said that when they tried to stab him, his two daughters were also injured, and his wife died on the spot.
The injured daughters, 18-year-old Ganga and 15-year-old Jamuna were immediately taken to the National Medical College Biratnagar for treatment and were referred to the University Teaching Hospital in Kathmandu from that hospital.
Basnet, who is in custody on charges of murder, is being investigated further, police said.
