Apple’s YouTube Channel Hack: Deepfake Video Live With Tim Cook Promoting Crypto Instead Of iPhone The Apple event was scheduled to start at 11:30 PM Nepali time on Monday. The company had completed all preparations to announce its much-awaited iPhone 16 series at the event.
There are two types of Apple events, physical and online. There are only limited people in the physical program. Millions of people around the world participate in virtual events.
Shortly before the program went live, a live video was broadcast from Apple’s YouTube channel, which was opened specifically for the American audience. In the video, the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of Apple was seen giving information about Bitcoin.
The sound in the video was a bit unnatural. Most of the video was covered in Bitcoin hype.
Thus, when a fake live video came from Apple’s official YouTube channel before the scheduled time, the video seemed real to many. The live video was watched by more than seven lakh viewers.
Soon after that, another YouTuber reported that YouTube was hacked and fake videos were live from it. According to reports, the video broadcast on Apple’s US-focused YouTube channel is a video prepared with the help of deepfake technology.
They were induced to invest in fake videos by giving links to them. It is said that hundreds of users have visited the website because of this. Shortly after that, the video was taken down by YouTube.
