About 40000 People Died Alone At Home In Japan In Japan, about 40,000 people died alone at home in the first six months of this year. This data is given in the Japanese police report.
According to the National Police Agency, the bodies of about 4,000 of them were found a month after their death, while the bodies of 130 were missing for almost a year.
The Japanese police agency hopes the report will help highlight the country’s problem of elderly people living alone and forced to die alone.
According to the statistics of the National Police Agency, about 37,227 people living alone at home have been found dead. 70 percent of these individuals were 65 or older.
About 40 percent of people’s bodies were found on the same day, while about 3,939 people’s bodies were found a month after their deaths. 130 people were ignored before their discovery.
According to Japanese public TV network NHK, the police agency will give the data to a government group that is investigating unclaimed deaths. Earlier this year, the Japanese National Population and Social Security Research Institute said, “The number of citizens aged 65 and over in the country could reach 1.08 million by 2050.”
