UK’s Bevansea Club Won The ‘Mona Euro Cup’ Title The Mona Spain Euro Cup-2024 title has been won by Britain’s Bevansea Football Club. In the final match held in Barcelona, Spain on Sunday, Biwansi won the title by defeating the Nepali Dream Team of the Netherlands with a 4-3 goal difference.
In the first half of the seven-a-side football tournament, Bewansi took a 3-0 lead. However, in the second half, the Nepali Dream Team made a comeback and tied the game 3-3. With 3 minutes left before the end of the scheduled time, the Bewansi club added a goal and secured the title.
Winning the title, the Bevansi Club of Britain received a trophy, medal, and certificate along with 5 thousand 5 euros in cash.
The teams were divided into four groups for the league stage through the ‘draw’ drawn on Saturday itself. Napfam FC Portugal and Baglung Samaj Spain in Group A’ and Bewansi FC UK, NRNA Paisavasco, and Gorkhali United FC competed in Group B’.
Similarly, in group ‘C’ there was a competition between Tamu Samaj Spain, Nepali Dream Team, and Mona Spain ‘A’. And, NRNA Portugal, Everest FC Madrid, and Mona FC ‘B’ played in Group ‘D’.
Saugat Gurung of the winning team Biwansi became the best player in the tournament. Ivan Gurung of Bewansi became the top scorer by scoring 8 goals in the tournament. Basant Marhatta of the Netherlands, who became the runner-up, Nepali Dream Team, was declared the best goalkeeper.
Gurung, who became the best player, while talking to Online Khabar, said that his team won the European level competition four times.
The coordinator of the competition, Suresh Sharma, expressed his happiness that the match was completed in the structure of the Eurocup between Nepalis living in different countries in the presence of hundreds of spectators. “Participation of teams from different cities of Great Britain, Netherlands, Portugal, and Spain is in itself the fulfillment of our purpose.
