Nepal’s Historic Victory Over India In Kava Volleyball Nepal has achieved a historic victory over India in Kava Women’s Nations League women’s volleyball.
Nepal defeated India by 3-2 in the volleyball-covered hall of Dasharath Stadium in Tripureshwar. Nepal lost 25-18, 12-25, 25-17, 18-25, 15-13.
With the support of the home supporters, Nepal made a great start by taking a 12-6 lead in the first set. But after India came back and reduced the lead to 11-13, Nepal took the first time out.
At the beginning of the second set, Nepal was tied 6-6. But after that, India scored points continuously and won easily by 15-12. After making a mistake in the player change, Nepal got a red card, and India did not play the last point.
India was continuously leading in the fourth set. India led 15-10 at halftime.
Nepal showed the possibility of returning to the game by making 15-17. India won the fourth set 25-18 after losing five points in a row from being behind by two points in a very competitive match.
The beginning of the deciding fifth set was competitive. Usha Bhandari and Saraswati Choudhary spiked points, and Nepal took a 5-2 lead and signaled a historic victory. Nepal changed the court in the fifth set at 8-5.
Earlier, the best performance in women’s volleyball between Nepal and India was the final of the 2019 South Asian Games (SAG) at Dasharath Stadium. In that match, Nepal lost 3-2 sets and missed out on winning the gold.
Along with Nepal, India, Iran, the Maldives, and Sri Lanka are participating in the Kava Women’s League. The top four teams will play in the semifinals. Nepal defeated Sri Lanka 3-0 in straight sets in the first match. India defeated Iran 3-1 in the first match and the Maldives 3-0 in the second match in straight sets.
