National Identity Card Is Mandatory To Get Sim Card And Open Bank Account The government has made the national identity card mandatory for getting a SIM card and opening a bank account. The government has made such an arrangement by publishing a notice in the gazette on Wednesday.
Under this, to get banking and financial services, to get a telephone and sim card, to get services of social security fund, and to get services related to buying and selling of real estate, it is mandatory to have a national identity card.
This arrangement will be compulsorily enforced from 1st Magh 2081. The Government of Nepal has made this decision regarding the use of National Identity Card for the purposes of Section 3 and 10 of the National Identity Card and Registration Act, 2076.
In order to provide or demand public service facilities provided by government-owned institutions and private sector, such service facilities can be obtained by submitting a national identity card or a national identity number instead of a Nepali citizenship certificate.
