BJP Alliance Won 293 Seats: Modi Will Become The Prime Minister For The Third Time The counting of votes for the 18th Lok Sabha elections in India has been completed.
According to the Election Commission, the BJP-led ruling alliance (NDA) has won 293 seats. Similarly, the Congress-led opposition alliance (India) won 231 seats.
The BJP alone has failed to win a majority. The number of seats won by the BJP alone is 240. In 2019, the BJP alone won a majority with 303 seats.
Limited to 52 seats in 2019, Congress alone has won 99 seats. The Samajwadi Party (SP) won 37 seats. Trinamul Congress (TMC) won 29 seats. Even though 272 seats were required for a majority, no party was able to achieve a single majority.
However, since the BJP has become the largest party, a coalition government will be formed under its leadership. BJP leader Narendra Modi will lead the government.
Modi equalized with Nehru.
Modi has led the government for two consecutive terms, from 2014 to 2019 and from 2019 to 2024. Now he will lead the government for a third term.
Bharatiya Janata Party President JP Nadda has said that Narendra Modi will become the Prime Minister for the third time. People will bless Narendra Modi in 2024. Narendra Modi is becoming the Prime Minister for the third time,” said Nadda.
Modi is the second leader in India to become Prime Minister for three consecutive terms. Jawahar Lal Nehru has held such a record before.
Modi said We will move forward with a new resolve
BJP leader and current Prime Minister Narendra Modi has expressed his gratitude to the people for giving them a majority for the third time.
He wrote on the social network X, “The people of the country have expressed their confidence in the NDA for the third time in a row.” This is an unprecedented moment in the history of India. I assure the countrymen that we will move forward with new energy, new enthusiasm, and new determination to fulfill their aspirations.
