A legal way of Ride sharing opened in Gandaki Province The way of ride sharing has been opened in Gandaki province. With the publication of the Gandaki Province Vehicle and Transport Management Regulations, 2080, made by the Ministry of Physical Infrastructure Development and Transport, the legal way for ride sharing has been opened.
The regulation provides that private vehicles can also carry passengers. According to this, four-wheelers and two-wheelers registered for private purposes can serve passengers by completing the prescribed procedure and charging the prescribed fare.
It is stated in the regulations, “The ministry can make and issue necessary standards so that four-wheeled and two-wheeled vehicles with registration certificates for private purposes can carry passengers like public vehicles.”
The government of Gandaki Province is going to implement such a rule by using the authority given by Section 221 of the Gandaki Province Vehicle and Transport Management Act, 2076.
