Tendulkar’s deepfake video was misused to promote the betting app ‘Skyward Aviator Quest’. After the video was heavily criticized on the internet, Tendulkar explained that the video was prepared using deepfake technology on social media.
Similarly, he has suggested that social media platforms should also be aware of such incidents and take appropriate measures against them. He further wrote, “Their role in this context is very important. So that false information and news can be stopped and the abuse of deepfakes can be stopped.
Recently, the cases of misuse of deepfake videos have increased in India. Famous people like Shah Rukh Khan, Virat Kohli, Mukesh Ambani, Ratan Tata, Ravish Kumar, Akshya Kumar, Sadhguru, Priyanka Chopra, Rashmika Mandana, and others were exposed.
