Global IME credit card funds can be spent on QR payments through mobile banking. Now, customers of Global IME Bank can make QR payments even from the amount on their credit card. With the switching facility of Nepal Electronic Payment Solution and the technical support of Swift Technology, the bank has started the ‘Visa Scan to Pay’ system.
During an event organized in Kathmandu on Monday, the Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank, Dr. Gunakar Bhatt, Chief Executive Officer of Global IME Bank, Ratnaraj Bajracharya, Chief Executive Officer of Nepal Electronic Payment Solutions, Sanjeev Subba, and Chief Executive Officer of Swift Technology, Niraj Dhungana, launched the service with the first transaction by scanning the QR code.
Customers can now make any payment by scanning a QR code through Global IME Bank’s mobile app, Global Smart Plus, without a physical card. That is, now the amount on the credit card can be spent by scanning the QR code through the mobile banking app of that bank.
In this case, it was inconvenient to pay by credit card when the card was left behind or there was no Finpos machine. To end this situation, the bank has started the ‘Visa Scan to Pay’ system.
The chief guest at the program, Executive Director of Nepal Rastra Bank Bhatt, said that this technology released by the bank will prove to be a milestone in the development of digital technology.

Visa’s Country Manager for Nepal, Bangladesh, and Bhutan, Soumya Vasu, said that Nepal is ahead in adopting new technology.
