Today Is The Eighth Day Of Navratri 2025: Worship Of Goddess Mahagauri Today, on the eighth day of Navratri, Goddess Mahagauri is being worshipped.
As per the tradition of worshipping various forms of Goddess Shakti for the nine days of Navratri, Mahagauri is being worshipped today, on the day of Mahaashtami.
There is a religious belief that worshipping the Goddess during Navratri will bring power, wealth, and knowledge. On this basis, followers of Vedic Sanatan Dharma perform special worship of Goddess Durga every year from the bright fortnight of Ashwin to the ninth day.
The nine-day-long worship of the goddess is followed by the offering of Prasad from Vijayadashami to Kojagrat Purnima. In this way, Nepalis celebrate Bada Dashain for 15 days.
During Navratri, devotees throng Shaktipeeths across the country to worship and offer prayers. On this occasion, devotees continue to throng Shaktipeeths in and outside the Kathmandu Valley today.
Since the seventh day of Navratri, i.e. the day of Phulpati, is also a public holiday, crowds increase at Shaktipeeths and goddess temples across the country. The special splendour of Bada Dashain has also begun from this day.
