After 6 years, the next GoPro MAX model is finally out: the GoPro MAX 2. This unit is basically an entire overhaul of the GoPro MAX, which upgrades everything. From new sensors giving a full 8K of usable footage, to almost all the modes/features found on a GoPro Hero 13 Black, and plenty more.
Incidentally, the retail version of the Max 2 is a dead ringer for last July’s leak, begging the question of why the Max 2 took so long to reach shelves. Measuring in at 69.7 x 64 x 48.7 mm excluding its Folding Fingers, the Max 2 features a 1,960 mAh battery that GoPro boasts is 23% larger than previous models.
Moreover, the camera supports Bluetooth Low Energy 5.3 and Wi-Fi 6 connectivity within its 195 g housing. On top of that, the Max 2 has a 1/2.3-inch and f/1.8 aperture camera that can shoot 29 MP photos and 360° videos in 8K at 30 FPS, 5.6K at 60 FPS or 4K at 100 FPS to create slow-motion footage.
The GoPro Max 2 is available to order from today for $499.99 in the US. Currently, GoPro expects to begin shipping pre-orders on September 30.
