Singer Zubin Garg Passes Away Zubin Garg, the famous Indian singer of ‘Ya Ali’ fame, has died in Singapore at the age of 52.
He had developed breathing problems while scuba diving. He was rescued from the sea by guards and taken to the hospital, where he died.
Garg shot to fame in 2006 with the song “Ya Ali” from the Emraan Hashmi-starrer film Gangster.
He had left for Singapore two days ago to participate in the North East India Festival. The three-day festival was scheduled to begin on Friday, September 19, and Zubin was scheduled to perform on September 20.
“He had difficulty breathing while scuba diving and was immediately given CPR, after which he was rushed to Singapore General Hospital. Despite resuscitation efforts, he was declared dead in the ICU at 2:30 pm,” he said.
Zubin was born on 18 November 1972 in the Tinsukia district of Assam. He was a singer, musician, lyricist, actor and director in the Assamese and Hindi film industries. He sang songs in Assamese, Hindi, Bengali and English.
Scuba diving is an underwater adventure sport. During this time, scuba divers dive underwater wearing breathing equipment. Scuba diving is generally considered a safe adventure sport.
