Ranjana Unicode Font of Nepali Language is Public The Ranjana Unicode font has been released. The Calijatra Foundation released the Unicode version of the Nitya Ranjana font at a program in the capital on Saturday.
The history, present, and future of the Ranjana script were discussed in this event organized under the chief hospitality of Sunita Dangol, Deputy Chief of Kathmandu Metropolitan City. Anand Kumar Maharjan, the font developer and president of the Kalijatra Foundation, said that “Ranjana Unicode Font” was developed to protect and promote the script in the modern era.
The popular language, script, and tangible and intangible cultural heritage that carry the identity of Nepal as a whole have become endangered due to globalization and the increasing adoption of Western civilization,” he said. Even the Ranjana script is fading away. ”
Keeping this very sensitive issue in mind, the Calijatra Foundation has brought this font in a digital version for some time now.
This font was developed by the team of Kalijatra Foundation and India’s reputed font design company Ektype, with chief font developer Tathagata Vishwas, Sharang Kulkarni, Nupur Datye, and Anand Kumar Maharjan.
Anand Kumar Maharjan, who is also a Ranjana script expert, has been providing regular advice, guidance, reviews, and necessary resources. This Ranjana Unicode font is made available for free to users worldwide.
According to the organizers, this font is artistically and technically improved over the old, available Neva fonts. Therefore, the organizers believe that the Ranjana script can be promoted and its use can be increased correctly. According to the organizing team, government institutions, Newa communities, Buddhist communities, non-Newars, schools, colleges, and design houses will benefit from the use of this easy font.
After downloading the app, you have to type Unicode Devanagari in the box that says Devanagari keyboard. Then the words of the Ranjana script appear below. The word can be downloaded as a photo and used.
