Nepal’s Final Squad For U-19 Asia Cup Announced Nepal’s final squad for the ACC U-19 Men’s Asia Cup cricket tournament starting from November 29 in the UAE has been announced.
The ACC on Saturday announced the names of the 15-member Nepali final squad, captained by Hemant Dhami. Earlier, the Cricket Association of Nepal (CAN) had announced the names of 18 players.
Nepal’s final squad was announced after a five-match series against Karnataka U19. Out of the 18 players, Rajesh Yadav, Dayanand Mandal and Dilsad Ali did not make it to the final squad.
Seven of the 15 players included in the final squad have also been selected for various teams for the Nepal Premier League (NPL) starting from November 30.
U-19 captain Hemant Dhami and Akash Tripathi are signed to Janakpur Bolts, while vice-captains Arjuna Kumal and Naren Saud are signed to Sudurpaschim Royals. Similarly, Naren Bhatta has been signed by Biratnagar Kings, Ranjit Kumar to Chitwan Rhinos, and Yunish Bikram Thakuri to Karnali Yaks. These 7 players will miss the first few matches of the NPL.
Kathmandu Gurkhas, Pokhara Avengers, and Lumbini Lions have no players in the U-19 team.
Shakti Gauchan is the head coach of the Nepali U-19 team, while Dhirendra Chand is the assistant coach.
