Russia Fined Google 20 Million Times More Than All The Money On Earth Russia has ordered Google to pay a fine of 23.8 million 9523 times the total amount of money on Earth. Russia has decided to pay a fine to Google for blocking Russian channels on YouTube on various dates.
According to The Moscow Times, a Russian court ordered Google to pay a fine of $2.5 trillion. This means 33 zeros behind 2.5.
In a report published by The Moscow Times, it has been commented that Google will never pay this fine. Google’s parent company, Alphabet, earned $307 billion last year. However, if you calculate it in the corporate world, $307 billion is not that much. This amount of income is nothing in front of the fines paid by Russia.
Why did the Russian court want to pay so much fine to Google? The reason for this is the media operated by Russia.
A Russian court ordered Google to return blocked accounts and pay a fine of 100,000 rubles (about $1,029) per day. According to Russian media RBC, the court doubled the fine every week.
The penalty amount was increasing at the rate of two times a day and four times a night. In 2023, the gross domestic product (GDP) of the earth is said to be 1050 trillion dollars. Compared to this, the amount to be paid by Google is two million times more.
Google has not shown any sign of paying the fine. On the other hand, the amount of the fine has increased.
In fact, Google has almost completely withdrawn from Russia. Google’s Russian subsidiary was declared bankrupt by Russia about a year ago.
Russian media companies initially sued Google. Now that company is trying to pay the fine to Google. According to RBC, these Russian companies have filed lawsuits against Google in countries like Spain, South Africa, Turkey and Hungary, so that the Russian fines can be enforced.
Earlier this year, South Africa also gave permission to seize Google’s assets. In response, Google has launched its own lawsuits in the US and UK to keep these Russian lawsuits confined to Russia.
