Price
We must wait at least four to five months for the Galaxy S25 Ultra to be released. Samsung will probably release the phone in January or February 2025.
The Galaxy S24 series released this year was released much earlier, on January 17, as expected. The phone was already available on the market on 31 January.
The price of the Galaxy S 23 Ultra was 1199 dollars (about 160 thousand rupees). A year later, the price of Galaxy S24 Ultra, released, was set at $100 more, i.e. $1,299 (roughly Rs. 174,000).
Since the S25 has a new-generation chipset, its price is expected to be higher. Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo also expects the price of this phone to be relatively high.
Design and display
The Galaxy S24 series has a 6.8-inch screen. However, it is said that the S25 series will have a bigger display, i.e. 6.86 inches. The S24 is slightly larger than the Ultra. However, before the 6.9-inch display of the iPhone 16 Pro Max, the S25’s display was a bit smaller.
The S25 Ultra is said to be 77.6 mm wide. The width of S24 is 79 mm. Similarly, the S25 Ultra is said to have rounded corners. Samsung has been making corner square models since the S22 Ultra.
Galaxy S25 Ultra and S24 Ultra cameras
S24 Ultra has a 200-megapixel main, 12-megapixel ultrawide, 10-megapixel telephoto camera with 3x zoom, 50-megapixel telephoto camera with 5x optical zoom.
In the S25 series, the ultrawide lens will be increased from 12 megapixels to 50 megapixels. It will have a 200-megapixel main camera, a 12-megapixel selfie camera and a 50-megapixel telephoto camera.
It is said that the focal lens can be increased up to four to five times in this phone.
Performance
The use of Snapdragon 8 Gen 3 chipset has made the Galaxy S24 Ultra very impressive. The Galaxy S25 Ultra will use the 8th gen 4 chipset. However, Qualcomm has already confirmed that Snapdragon 8 Gen will be released on October 4. Due to this, the S25 Ultra will likely have this chipset in 2025.
However, the initial benchmarks of Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 are not very impressive. According to the leaked Geekbench results, the Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 has given results similar to the top score of the iPhone 16 powered by the A18 Bionic.
According to various reports, the iPhone 16 Pro scored a single-core score of 3,400 and a multi-core score of 8,341 on Geekbench. Similarly, the iPhone 16 Pro Max scored 3,386 and 8,306.
On the other hand, the Galaxy S25 Ultra running on Snapdragon 8 Gen 4 got a 3,069 single-core score and 9,080 multi-core score in the leaked results.
Also, the RAM performance capacity is expected to increase from 12 GB in the current Galaxy S24 Ultra to 16 GB in the Galaxy S25 Ultra. It is said that this will improve multitasking and Galaxy AI performance.
Talking about the AI features, the Galaxy S25 Ultra is likely to add new AI features like the previous S24 lineup. However, no concrete information has been made available so far.
In terms of battery life, the Galaxy S24 Ultra showed the ability to last around 17 hours with a 5000 mAh battery. According to the report, the Galaxy S25 Ultra will also have the same capacity i.e. 5000 mAh battery. And, it is likely to maintain 45 watt charging speed.
