Cheating Online Gambling Platform Showing Greed On Facebook Is Active Again In Nepal Online betting platforms have started to become active again in Nepal for the purpose of cheating. These platforms are trying to cheat users by using paid advertisements on social media. It is easy to dream of making money on these platforms, which look like opportunities at a glance, but the reality is that they are just scams.
Among them, platforms like Jayabaji, and BJ88 seem to be aggressively campaigning in Nepal. Such platforms are advertised through recently opened Facebook accounts. Details have been kept in the advertisement so that it can get caught by looking at it quickly.
For example, the page named ‘Nepal Royal Quest’, which advertised the Jayabaji platform, was opened only on 31 July 2024. This page has a total of 16 followers. But looking at Meta’s ad library, it seems that eight ads have been placed after the page was opened. Most of them are advertised as ‘Special for Nepali players’.
The website link of the platform is placed in the advertisement of both these platforms. An option is given to open an account by keeping a phone number on the website. What is more frightening is that the Nepali language has been used to show that this platform is Nepali. Due to this, it seems that common users will also be attracted towards the platform and create an account and do as they say.
The more people can be connected to this platform, the more people will benefit, the more commissions, the protection of players, and the sending of money through e-wallets and banks. By being lured in this way, earlier platforms like Fifia, NEC Nijmegen, and CG Bet cheated the users and escaped.
Any type of gambling is prohibited in Nepal. However such online platforms are adopting new methods and are deceiving the common people. Enticing through attractive advertisements and flashy offers, these platforms are extorting money from a large number of people. Especially the youth are falling into economic crisis due to such temptations.
Usually, betting sites initially make the user think they have won. But in the end, they steal millions of rupees from the users.
It seems that bank accounts and wallet accounts used on these platforms are also kept under temptation. On contacting a number provided on this platform, a woman picked up the phone. She said that her son uses most of the mobile phones. From this, it seems that his son joined the illegal platform by keeping his mother’s phone number.
Even if such platforms give benefits temporarily, they can make a house or a ghat in the long run. Therefore, before falling into the lure of online gambling and losing their wealth, common people should think that this is not an opportunity, but a scam.
Experts have advised the general public to be cautious and be more careful when doing financial transactions online to avoid the trap of this fraud. On the other hand, unless there is continuous monitoring by the government and security agencies, there is a possibility that such fraud cases will increase.
