In this situation, YouTuber Markis Brownlee, known as mkbhd, recently released a wallpaper app. An annual subscription fee of 50 dollars (about six thousand 650 rupees) has been set for using the app.
Soon after the app was released, it hawas hvily criticizes for its performance, price, and the permissions it asks for. The ‘Panels’ app released by Brownlee can be used on both Android and iOS.
There is no charge to download the app. However, you have to pay a fee to get access to the HD photos on it. If you want to download even a normal-quality photo and put it on your wallpaper, you have to watch at least two ads. It is being criticizedsfo the excessive advertisements and the permissions the app asks for.
After much criticism, YouTuber Brownlee posted on X and mentioned that the app does not actually ask for permission. He said that information on how the collected data will be used will be provided soon. Also, it has been announced that the number of advertisements will be reduced for those using the free app.
He mentioned that the amount is a bit expensive because the artists who make the premium version wallpapers have to be paid a fee. However, he did not give any opinion about reducing the fee.
