Title To GoldenPeak And Valley Public Goldenpeak and Valley Public won the title of the 18th Greenland Interscholastic Basketball Tournament.
Goldenpik, who won the double title, became the champion in senior and junior boys. First in Valley Public Senior Girls.
Golden Peak defeated HHCA 53-43 in the senior boys’ finals at Greenland School’s court in Dhapasi. In the junior boys, Goldenpeak defeated Valley Public 27-23. In the senior girl’s title match, Valley Public edged Fairland 37-28.
Suwin Tamang of GoldenPeak in Senior Boys, Elina Gauchan of Valley Public in Senior Girls, and Nelson Gurung of GoldenPeak in Junior Boys were declared ‘Most Valuable Player’. David Rai of HHCA in Senior Boys, Nyadika Gurung of Greenland in Senior Girls, and Satya Saika Balakrishna Patel in Junior Boys were selected as the best three-pointers.
Suresh Bisi from Greenland (87 points) in senior boys, Eseksha Dhungana from Ferriland (63 points) in senior girls, and Ashok Vick of Valley Public (42 points) in junior boys topped the list of highest scorers. Scholars Home Academy in senior boys, Tejashwi in senior girls, and Gyan Sanskar in junior boys were selected as emerging teams.
The winners were awarded by Thakin Kumar Gurung, Central Vice President of Pabson and Principal of Greenland, Dhan Bahadur Pun, Principal of Angel’s Heart, Chatramani Rai, Principal of GoldenPeak, Vinod Ghimire, Vice Principal of Greenland and others. 64 teams participated in the competition which lasted for 11 days.
