Krishna Janmashtami Is Being Celebrated Today The ‘Shri Krishna Janmashtami‘ festival is being celebrated across the country today. On this day, Vedic Sanatan Dharmavalmvi celebrates by worshiping Lord Krishna with devotion.
Today, a fair is held at the famous Krishna temple in Mangal Bazar, Patan. It is customary for the President to visit Patan Krishna Temple.
Likewise, there is a crowd of devotees in the big and small Sri Krishna temples in different places of the capital. On this occasion, it is customary for various religious associations of Kathmandu to take out processions and chariot processions with tableaus.
Sri Krishna, who is considered to be the pioneer of Jnana Yoga, Karma Yoga, and Bhakti Yoga, was born on the midnight of Bhadrakrishna Ashtami in Dwapara Yuga, so today is called ‘Shri Krishna Janmashtami’ and the night is called ‘Mohratri’. On this day, there is a tradition of worshiping, preaching, bhajan kirtan in Krishna temples all over the country, especially women and men fasting and staying awake all night.
On the occasion of this festival, the government has given a public holiday across the country today.
