Critics also liked this film a lot. The legacy of this film is still the same. But Shah Rukh and Manisha never collaborated on another project after this much-hyped film. In a recent interview with Zoom, Manisha spoke about the reason why she could not collaborate with Shahrukh again.
Many people do not know this. But this film did not get much buzz compared to ‘Dil Se’. Pointing to the trend of Indian films, Manisha said, ‘In this industry, it is not the heroine who decides who the hero works with, but the hero.’
In the same interview, Manisha said that some experiences from her early days in Bollywood helped shape her career. Recalling a meeting at that time, Koirala said, “At the beginning of my career, I was asked to go and take pictures with a famous photographer. I went with my mother. At first, the photographer said things like ‘You are another superstar’.
Manisha stood her ground and insisted on being photographed fully clothed. As a result, the photographer gave a dramatic response. He said – How can I make a statue out of clay that refuses to melt?’
Manisha was recently seen in Sanjay Leela Bhansali’s Netflix series ‘Hiramandi’. The second season of this series is under preparation.
