No One Else Is Using Your ID Our daily lives have become so accustomed to online that without the internet, many jobs are stopped. An eternal truth, the more popular anything becomes, the more challenges and risks it poses. Taking advantage of this, trends such as hacking your account online, stealing online data and accessing online bank accounts, and fraud using social media accounts are increasing worldwide.
The more the technology is developing, the more the challenges are increasing. So how secure are your online accounts? Is your account accessed by someone other than you? How to know?
You can pay attention to some small things to know if your account has been hacked or not. First of all, the person who has access to your account demands money from you or from others through your account as ransom or assistance.
For example, just some time ago, when the site of Lakshmi Capital was hacked, the data was leaked on the dark web after the hacker did not receive the requested amount.
Keeping this issue in mind, most companies these days are tightening their security features to avoid various types of hacking and to keep their accounts safe.
What is the system to know whether your account is in the hands of others or not in which platforms and mediums? Today we will discuss this content:
Gmail
Almost everyone has a Gmail ID. And with the same ID, we opened other social network accounts. If you feel that there is any unusual activity in your Gmail or that someone else is running your account, follow the steps below:
– Open your Gmail.
-Scroll to the bottom of the screen. On the right side, it says ‘Last Account Activity’ in small letters, click on ‘Details’ below it.
– There you can see where your account is active. In which you can see details from which country and at what time the account has been used or was.
If such details show that the account is being used from outside the region you are using, you should take immediate action. For more information on this topic:
– Click on Security Checkup written at the top of the screen.
– Among the various options given there, go to ‘Your Devices’. Here you can see which devices your account is being used on, i.e. mobile, laptop, computer, etc. If it appears that a different device is being used than the one you are using, understand that someone else is using your account.
You can also see your various activities in ‘Recent Security Activity’ right at the bottom of your devices. Here you should understand that someone else has the password of your account if there is any activity that you did not do, but it is seen in your recent activity.
One way to avoid this is to change the password immediately. If there is any unusual activity on your account, please change the password. Along with this, you can set strong passwords, use passkeys, enable two-factor authentication, and more.
There have been major incidents of leaking email IDs and passwords including the personal details of billions of people around the world. If your data is also involved in this type of theft, your account may be in danger.
Microsoft
Now let’s talk about Outlook or Microsoft accounts. If you use a Microsoft account and want to know who else is using your account or where and when they signed in, follow the steps below:
-Click on your profile icon at the top right of the screen and click on My Microsoft Account.
– Now click on the security option on the left side of the screen.
-Here you will see an option called ‘View My Sign-In Activity’ under the account title, click on it.
Here you can get all the details about which device is signed in from which date and from which location from your ID. If you find any activity suspicious, go to your account settings and click Change Password to change your password.

Facebook and Instagram
How to check this on Facebook or Instagram? There is a lot of discussion on this topic. Again, these days there are many incidents of misuse by accessing Facebook passwords. How to check whether your account is safe or not?
Follow the below method for this:
-Go to the settings of Facebook and go to the password and security option.

After this, you can find out from which device you were last logged in.
Similarly, follow the below procedure for Instagram:
-Go to Account Center and click on Password and Security.
– Then click on ‘Where you are logged in’.
After this, you can view the login details. In both Instagram and Facebook, you can log out of your ID on a particular device from the same option.
This thing seems to be somewhat easier on WhatsApp. Since some time ago, a provision has been implemented that the same WhatsApp account can be used on different devices.
If you use an iPhone or iPad, follow the steps below:
-Go to WhatsApp settings.
– Click on ‘Linked Devices’ at the bottom right corner of the screen.
By doing this you can easily see your ID-linked devices. If you find any device suspicious among the links, you can log out your ID by tapping on the name of that device.
For Android do this:
– Go to WhatsApp and tap on the three dots icon on the top right of the screen.
-Now tap on ‘Linked Devices’.
Now you can see your ID-linked devices from here. You can also remove it from there.
X
Formerly Twitter, now X, you can see where your account is being used apart from your device. Follow the below procedure for this:
-Go to X’s settings.
– Among the various options that appear there, click on More.
-Now you can see an option called Settings and Privacy on the left side of the screen.
– Click here and click on Security and Account Access. And, go to Apps and Sessions.
Here you can see the details of which app you have connected your X account to, and where you are logged in.
In this way, you can know the current status of your account on various platforms. By doing this you can sometimes find out if your account has been hacked before the big damage is done.
