The opening ceremony took place on the Seine River near Paris. Where athletes from 206 countries of the world participated in Marspass by riding different styles of boats. He participated in the 6 km long parade by climbing on 85 trees.
Although there was light rain during the opening ceremony, it did not affect the ceremony much. French President Macron announced the opening of the 33rd Summer Olympics.
French judo player Teddy Riner and sprinter Marie Jose Perec lit the Olympic flame.
Famous singers Lady Gaga, Celine Dion, and others performed at the opening ceremony. Similarly, French football legend Zinedine Zidane, tennis star Rafael Nadal and others participated.
Shantu Shrestha of table tennis and Manita Shrestha of Judo carried Nepal’s flag in the march past the opening ceremony of the Paris Olympics. In the opening ceremony, players from Nepal, Namibia, and Nauru boarded the same boat. Along with Shantu and Manita, swimmer Alex Shah, Badminton’s Prince Dahal, Nepali team’s Safe the Machine Tank Lal Ghising, also traveled in the boat. Shantu, who became the third Nepali player to play in the Olympics after passing the qualifying stage, is presenting his challenge on Saturday, the day after the opening.
