Xiaomi Has Topped The Smartphone Market In India Chinese smartphone manufacturer Xiaomi has risen to the top position in the Indian smartphone market. The company has become the largest smartphone brand based on market share in the June quarter, surpassing Samsung and Vivo in the highly competitive smartphone market.
During that period, Xiaomi’s sales increased by 24 percent annually. With this, the company’s share in the smartphone market has increased to 18 percent. A year ago it was only 15 percent. Vivo is in second place with an annual increase of 4 percent in sales. Vivo’s Polta has 18 percent of the market share there. On the other hand, the sales of Samsung, which is in third place, decreased by 8 percent. During the review period, Samsung’s share in the Indian smartphone market is 17 percent.
Chinese smartphone brands Realme and Oppo are the fourth and fifth largest brands with 12 percent and 11 percent market share respectively during the review period. In the April-June quarter, a total of 36.4 million smartphones were sold in the Indian smartphone market. This is 1 percent more than the same period a year ago.
