For Uruguay, Federico Valverde, Rodrigo Bentacur, Jorgen de Aracasta, and Manuel Ugarte scored on penalties. Jose Maria Jimenez’s shot was saved by Brazil goalkeeper Alison.
Only Andres Pereira and Gabriel Martinelli scored on penalties for Brazil. Ader Militao’s shot was saved by Uruguayan goalkeeper Sergio Rochet, while Douglas Lewis’ shot hit the post.
Uruguay will now compete with Colombia in the semi-finals to enter the finals. Colombia defeated Panama 5-0 and reached the semi-finals.
