An App Suitable For Those Who Want To Learn Nepali language Has Been Released A Dictionary app for Nepali (Newari) language has been released. The Nepal script tutorial and the Nepal language dictionary app were released at an event held in the capital on Thursday.
With the financial support of Kathmandu Metropolitan City, Nepal Lipi Guthi and the non-profit organization Dubli have been developing the app in its full version for a year now.
“We started a dictionary of the Nepali language through a website three years ago,” said Asmit Malla, a member of the Nepal language app, while talking to Tekpana, “Only the Nepali language was available on the website. We have introduced the app as the app is also essential these days.”
According to Malla, the app contains 41 thousand 231 words, 48 thousand 451 meanings and 1223 sayings. Similarly, 1050 baby names are also provided in the app.’
What are the features of the app?
As soon as you open the app, you can see the search bar at the top. There you can choose from Nepali language to Nepali language, English to Nepali language and Nepali to Nepali language options. You have to choose the last option to search Nepali language by keeping Nepali language. To select Nepali language from English, you have to select the second option, while to select Nepali language from Nepali language, you can select the first option.
It can be seen that Nepal Samvat and English date are kept at the bottom of it. At the bottom of it is the word of the day section. A photo is placed below it and the meaning is explained below it. The speaker icon is also placed next to it. When you tap on it, you can hear the word pronounced.
Similarly, you can see the option of three bars on the top right. There is an option to browse ‘A to Z’ (Browse A-Z). When you tap on that option, letters from A to Z are kept. You can choose the word that suits you.
Below that is the option of Proverbs. There are many sayings and proverbs in it. Also below that is the name option. You can choose the name of your children from the given names.
Quiz option is also placed in the menu section. You can play three types of quiz, easy, moderate and hard. On top of that, the Nepali language is placed. The option of what it is called in English or Nepali language is placed below. You have to choose the right word from it.
Similarly, the app has the facility to convert Roman words into Nepali script. If you need to use Nepali script, you can convert it and use it as needed.
