“We have to get rid of electronic voting machines,” he said on X, “because the risk of being hacked by humans or AI is high.”
In the United States of America, Musk gave such a response because of irregularities in the elections held internally within the party for the selection of the presidential candidate.
According to the international media, hundreds of irregularities and many errors were seen in the EVM. However, the body there allowed the counting of votes.
In the recently concluded Lok Sabha elections in India, there have been allegations of irregularities in the electronic voting machines. Even in Nepal, there were claims of fraud in the election of the Non-Resident Nepali Association (NRN) held last October.
