Mercantile responded that the process was delayed due to the sudden increase in applications for domain names. Madhu Amatya, director of the company’s general administration and compliance, said that the number of NP domain registrants is the highest ever.
In the last one and a half months, there has been a surprise in the domain branch,” he told Tekpana. “There have been more applications for domain registration than ever. We have now added two more people after we could not cope with having only one employee approve or reject domains. Now the process will be faster soon.”
He said that not only domain registration work but also DNS modification work will be done from the same branch.
