Apple has overtaken Samsung to become the company that ships the most mobile phones on the market. For the first time, Apple has become the company that sends the most smartphones to the market, surpassing Samsung. According to the International Data Corporation (IDC), a company that tracks mobile phones quarterly, Apple has been the first to send a smartphone to the market for the first time.
According to IDEC, Apple has set a record by sending a total of 234.6 million smartphones to the market in 2023. On the other hand, Samsung has sent 226 million smartphones to the market during the same period. After that, Xiaomi and Oppo, respectively, sent 145 million and 103 million smartphones to the market.
According to IDC, the last time Samsung became the company that delivered the most smartphones to the market was in 2010. At that time, Apple was not even among the top five companies that shipped the most phones. At that time, Nokia was at the top, while Samsung was second, LG was third, and ZTE was fourth. Blackberry was among the top five smartphone marketers.
IDC said that Samsung’s competitors in the market are Huawei, Honor, and Google. IDC’s analysis is that it can compete strongly with Samsung’s S24 Ultra, especially due to the Huawei Mate 60 Pro launched by Huawei recently.
Recently, smartphone shipments have decreased by 3.2 percent compared to 2022.
