Some internet service provider companies, businessmen, or other people also provide free Wi-Fi for the convenience of the general public. There is no risk in that. However, the hacker may have taken advantage of the location to provide free Wi-Fi for their own interests.
Publicly available Wi-Fi also has many risks. Using free Wi-Fi is a’man in the middle attack’. This means that a hacker is in the middle of your transaction. Which data is exchanged between your device and the website you are browsing?
Not only that, there is also the risk of malware infection when using Wi-Fi that is available for free. Hackers also use free Wi-Fi to spread malware.
Do not give sensitive information or do business on public or free Wi-Fi. Likewise, you can keep your account safe by keeping your software updated and turning on multifactor authentication.
If you were using free WiFi in public, you would need to add security to your device to make it harmful for you. If you do such a type of activity on free public WiFi, it might occur to you.
Some browsers will be broken, and hackers will easily access your device details over there. Even the Nepal police will be finding those unwanted free public Wi-Fi places to figure it out there.
