Chennai International Film Festival Film from 57 countries will be screened during the 21st Chennai International Film Festival, which will be held in Sathyam Cinemas from December 14 to December 21. The festival is being organized by the Indo Cine Appreciation Foundation (ICAF) in association with PVR INOX.
There are films from countries like Iran, Korea, Germany, France, Hungary, Mexico, Taiwan, Australia, etc. For the first time in CIFF, in the world cinema section, there are movies from Vietnam, Jordan, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Tajikistan, Panama, Mongolia, Kazakhstan, Reunion, Uruguay, Macedonia, the UAE, and Tibet.
The opening film could be either “Anatomy of a Fall” by Justine Triet, a Palme d`Or winner at the Cannes Festival 2023, or “Perfect Days” by Wim Wenders, a recipient of the Best Actor Award at the Cannes Festival 2023.
Also, this year’s Cannes Award-winning film ‘Anatomy of a Fall’, eight Iranian films, and five Korean films will be screened at the opening of the festival. Tamil films censored between October 16, 2022, and October 15, 2023, are eligible to participate in this competition.
