Why Are People In Nepal Fighting Over The UML And The Nepali Congress And The Communist Party For over thirty years, the people of Nepal placed their hopes and trust in these parties, elevating them to positions of power. However, these parties failed to grasp the country’s actual situation or understand what needed to be done to improve it.

It is not that the parties themselves are inherently bad—building and strengthening a political party is a positive endeavor. Yet, the actions of party cadres have tarnished the parties’ reputations. After enduring prolonged hardship and disappointment, the public began seeking alternatives, hoping that new parties with fresh perspectives might finally bring about national development.

For a long time, these established parties promised to foster development and improve the country, though we are all aware of the actual state of affairs that ensued. Reports have surfaced indicating that individuals attempting to do good work were often swiftly removed or sidelined, as the parties leveraged their power to operate according to their own agendas rather than the public interest. Such incidents are occurring in various places, and these events have fostered a negative perception regarding the parties’ intentions and mindset. After all, many political parties have emerged in Nepal, making grand promises to the public about what they would achieve.

However, it is essential to reflect on what has actually been accomplished over the past thirty years and for the parties themselves to honestly assess their own actions. Instances have come to light where parties, driven by a desire for power, have attempted to conceal incidents or obscure the reality of their conduct.

Consequently, people find it difficult to discern which parties are truly acting in the country’s best interest. While the perspectives of individuals at local and provincial levels are understood, it remains crucial to grasp why the public often fails to fully comprehend this situation.

Despite these challenges, one must not abandon one’s duties; instead, it is necessary to remain steadfast in serving the public. Leaders need to demonstrate effective work, address the realities on the ground, articulate the true nature of the country’s situation, and encourage others to engage in similar constructive efforts. At first glance, things might seem comparable, and while one might feel inclined to offer criticism, determining whether a particular matter is right or wrong can be extremely difficult and complex. It remains uncertain whether these parties will endure into the future; ultimately, the outcome depends on time, circumstances, and the will of the people—matters that everyone has likely already grasped.

You can judge for yourselves whether these parties stand to benefit or not. If I have made any errors in my remarks regarding these parties, I wish to apologize; otherwise, you are free to draw your own conclusions.
