Are You Confused About The Letters In CapCut Being Distorted? Use ‘Edits’, Which Has 26 Nepali fonts. The Indian government has had a direct impact on Nepali content creators after it banned 58 Chinese apps, including TikTok, in June 2020, citing data security and privacy concerns. The video editing app ‘Capcut’, owned by Chinese company ByteDance, was also banned.

After losing the Indian market, which has more than 200 million users, ByteDance stopped prioritising the market. Nepali users have been facing problems for a long time due to the lack of interest in improving the Devanagari font after TikTok and Capcut were banned in the Indian market. Creators who wanted to use Devanagari words in videos were faced with difficulties.

Taking advantage of this, Facebook’s parent company, Meta, launched its new video editing app, Edits. This new app from Meta has been very effective, especially for countries like India and Nepal that use the Devanagari script. It seems that Meta has taken the market and font problem lost by ByteDance as an opportunity.

This app, which has become a favourite of many due to its watermark removal feature, effects, transitions, and sound effects, has recently become cumbersome due to advertisements and a paid (premium) version. Moreover, the biggest problem for Nepali users is the font.

The problem of corrupted characters persists even when users download and install fonts. To solve this problem, Meta’s ‘Edits’ app currently provides 26 Devanagari fonts. Meta is aggressively expanding the app globally, targeting users in countries where TikTok is banned, including India. So much so that the head of Instagram himself revealed that it gives more value to videos edited with edits.

Capcut requires you to pay to use most of the good transitions and effects. However, Meta’s edits have UI, effects, and transitions like Capcut’s for free so far. It also has a special ‘plus’ icon feature that allows users to note down ideas they get while watching other people’s videos and later create content based on them.

However, as an app within Meta’s own ecosystem, the music, sound effects, memes, and comedy audio available in Edits are safe for Facebook and Instagram Reels. Features like background removal, voice-over, and text animation are also readily available.

It has a time limit of 3,000 characters and a three-minute time limit. However, Edits does not have any such limit. Edits is a reliable option for users who want to use a teleprompter.

However, targeting the same weakness, Meta has brought major relief to Nepali content creators in video editing after launching the ‘Edits’ app, which features 26 Devanagari fonts. The company also seems to be expanding these fonts.
