According to new details, the location of the antenna (signal receiving part) will be changed in the iPhone 17 Pro and possibly even the iPhone 17 Pro Max.

Apple is said to be taking inspiration from the Apple Watch Ultra and Ultra 2 for this design change. The antennas are strategically placed on these smartwatches to improve signal quality and stability.
Placing the antennas around the camera module will reduce interference from the phone’s metal structure. This will improve the performance of 5G and the next-generation Wi-Fi 7 signals, even in crowded places, and keep the connection stable.
This structure will also improve the radiation pattern emitted by the antenna. It is analysed that this will ensure uniform signal distribution, reduce ‘signal blind spots’ in small areas, and ensure better performance even in high-density urban or complex indoor locations.
The new antenna design is said to provide better performance on technologies such as 5G mmWave and Wi-Fi 7, as well as less latency in streaming and data transfer, a cleaner design on the sides of the phone, and more space for the battery and thermal system.
