Dragon Boat Race Festival From Today At Fewatal In Pokhara The second edition of the ‘Nepal-China Friendly Dragon Boat Race Festival’ is starting today in Pokhara to promote Nepal’s tourism by making the cultural and people-level relations between Nepal and neighbouring China smooth.
Athletes from Nepal, China, and Singapore are participating in the festival, which will be held at Phewatal, the main tourist destination of Pokhara. The competition will be conducted till the 15th of January. 20 teams will participate in the competition, which will be jointly organized by the Gandaki Provincial Government, Pokhara Metropolitan City, the Chinese Embassy in Nepal, and the Nepal Tourism Board.
Eight teams from China, one from Singapore, and the remaining 11 teams from different parts of Nepal will participate in the competition. 11 teams from Nepal, including Gandaki, Bagmati, Karnali, Tribhuvan Army Club, Dragon Boat Gandaki, Begnas Team, Rupatal Team, and Nepal Rafting Agencies Association (NARA), will participate in the competition.
In the competition, the winning team of 500 and 200 meters will be awarded five thousand US dollars, the runner-up will be awarded two thousand dollars, and the third-placed team will be awarded one thousand two hundred US dollars.
