Argha Was Given To The Rising Sun On The Last Day Of Chhath In Nepal The Chhath festival has been completed by offering argha to the rising sun this morning. The devotees offered argha to the setting sun yesterday. After that, they stayed awake all night and offered argha to the rising sun today.
The Chhath festival is celebrated for four days with devotional worship. It is believed that by worshiping the sun and the sixth mother, family happiness, peace, prosperity, physical well-being, freedom from disease, and fulfillment of various wishes are fulfilled.
In this festival, bamboo dhaki, dagri, clay kosia kurbar, hati, and other materials are offered. Similarly, thekuva, bhusuva, banana, sugarcane, turmeric, ginger, and various kinds of sweets and fruits are offered as prasad.
It is customary to accept and distribute Chhath Puja materials as offerings. The Chhath festival, which was earlier celebrated only by the residents of Terai Madhesh along with Mithilanchal, has recently started to be celebrated by the residents of the hills as well.
People living in Kathmandu Valley have performed Chhath Puja from places like Kamalpokhri and Gaurighat.
