Today Is The Sixth Day Of Dashain: Worshiping Goddess Katyayani Goddess Katyayani is being worshipped today on the sixth day of Badadashain. Every year on the day of Ashwin Shukla Shasthi, there is a Vedic Sanatani tradition of ritually worshipping Goddess Katyayani.
It is a religious belief that on the occasion of Navratri if you worship the goddess and worship it, you will get power, wealth and knowledge. On this basis, Vedic Sanatan Dharma devotees perform special worship of Goddess Durga every year from Ashwin Shukla Pratipada to Navami.
On the nine days of Navratri, chanting of Durga Saptashati (Chandi), Sri Maddevi Bhagavata and other goddess stotras are also performed at the site where the Ghatasthapana is established.
On the second day, on Friday, the second Brahmacharini Devi was invoked and ritually worshipped at the puja place, and on the third day, on Saturday, Chandraghanta Devi was worshipped with devotion. Kushmanda Devi was duly worshipped on the fourth day on Sunday and on the fifth day on Monday.
Since both days fall on the fourth date in the sunrise period, it has been done according to the classical rule that the goddess Kushmanda should be worshipped on both days.
During Navratri, a crowd of devotees worship and darshan at the Shaktipeeth all over the country. Guhyeshwari, Jaywageshwari, Maitidevi, Kalikasthan, Naxal Bhagwati, Bhadrakali, Shobhabhagavati, Raktakali, Shwetkali, Bijeshwari, Kankeshwari, Kalankimai, Dakshinkali, Chamunda Devi, Sundarimai, Bajrayogini, Indrayani, Bagalamukhi and other temples in Kathmandu Valley are crowded with devotees from early morning.
Similarly, outside the valley Palanchok Bhagwati, Nala Bhagwati, Chandeshwari, Palchok Bhagwati, Kamalamai, Ichchakamana, Manakamana, Gadhimai, Chinnamasta, Pathibhara, Dantkali, Gahwamai, Baglung Kalika, Vindhyavasini, Talbarahi, Shaileshwari, Ambikeshwari, Badimalika, Ugratara etc. .
Most Shaktipeeths in the capital are thronged by devotees throughout the day. As Diwali is celebrated in Shaktipeeth from the evening of Aarti onwards, the number of devotees who visit Manidar in the evening for darshan has also started to increase.
