Another debate has started about this marriage. A Hindu organization in Bihar expressed its displeasure by taking out a poster calling the marriage ‘Love Jihad’. They demanded that Shatrughan Sinha change the name of his house and sons if he did not reconsider his daughter’s marriage. In the midst of these protests, Shatrughan Sinha has come to the defense of his daughter Sonakshi and her marriage.
Saying the famous line of lyricist and poet Anand Bakshi, ‘People say it is their job,’ Shatrughan Sinha said that job for the useless and unemployed people is to interrupt others. He also said that his daughter did not do any illegal or unconstitutional work after getting married.
He says that marriage is a personal decision of two people and no one has the right to comment on it or create disturbance. He has asked all those who opposed this marriage to stop opposing and live their lives and do what they want in life.
Sonakshi-Zaheer had a court marriage on June 23. While there were rumors that the actress would change her religion after marriage, Zahir’s father Iqbal Ratansi clarified that Sonakshi will not change her religion after marriage saying that the marriage was a union of hearts and it had nothing to do with religion.
