Google is Making Typing Even Easier By Adding an External Keyboard to Android Phones Google is going to make it easier to use the physical keyboard in Android 15. Google is going to provide such a feature in Android 15 to facilitate typing using an external keyboard on the phone.
According to Android Authority, Google will bring various changes and features for physical keyboard support on the phone. In the ‘Developer Preview Two’ of Android 15 provided for testing, various settings available when connecting an external keyboard are shown. Which, when connecting any keyboard to the phone, the ‘Physical Keyboard’ setting will appear first. It has three settings namely Sticky Keys, Slow Keys, and Bounce Keys. All of which can be seen as default.
It is not clear what these settings actually do. These same settings are also found in desktop operating systems like Windows. Where Sticky Key makes it easy to keep any keyboard shortcut. The bounce key prevents various sticky keys from being typed by mistake.
With the slow key, the time that the system takes after the user types letters/numbers/symbols can be adjusted. These features are especially useful for people with physical disabilities. However, anyone who finds it difficult to type on a physical keyboard can use this feature.
Moreover, after connecting any physical keyboard to Android 15, its layout can also be viewed from the mobile. Earlier, Google worked to support physical keyboard in the latest Android version 14. Among these, there were works such as placing customized keys, using topped gestures, and adding short keys.
More information about this is yet to come. However, the new features coming with Android 15 are believed to take Android operating to the next level as a desktop computing platform.
