Instagram's New Feature: Liked Posts Will Now Appear On Friends' Accounts

Instagram’s New Feature: Liked Posts Will Now Appear On Friends’ Accounts  Instagram is adding a new feature to its platform. The company is introducing a new feature that will show users reel videos that their friends have liked and commented on.

Instagram CEO Adam Mosseri announced the feature in a video message. According to him, a new tab will be added to Instagram soon. After going to this tab, users can see reels that their friends have liked and commented on.

The feature is said to be similar to the old ‘Activity’ feed that was removed in 2019. According to Mosseri, the feature is designed to make Instagram a place to connect with friends, not just to consume entertainment content. In the new feed, users will also be able to see which friends have liked a post and who has left temporary ‘notes’ on the reels.

However, this feature may make some users feel uncomfortable. Many users may not want their friends to see all the Reels videos they have liked. This can make users hesitant to engage with the content publicly.

Previously, platforms like Elon Musk’s social network X had decided to hide users’ liked posts. Especially if the user liked embarrassing posts, the other person would know. However, Elon Musk later made the feature available only to those who wanted to turn it on.

Meta has not commented on whether or not it will give users the option to show or hide their activity in this new Reels feed.

If TikTok is banned in the US, Instagram would benefit. Reels is a feature Instagram introduced to compete with TikTok. However many users and content creators say that the environment of Reels is not like TikTok. While this new feature may attract some users to the Reels feed, it seems that it may discourage many users from making their interests public.
