After from British rule, India has fought for another new freedom and that is the war of health. In these 75 years, India has progressed rapidly, in which the health sector has also advanced a lot. Whether it is an increase in the life expectancy rate to 75 years or a decrease in infant and maternal mortality, do not know how many milestones India has crossed. India not only got freedom from the British Raj but also freed itself from diseases like smallpox, leprosy, polio and guinea worm. The ability to make and provide vaccines is remarkable and needless to say. National Leprosy Eradication Programme
The National Leprosy Reduction Program (NELP) was run by the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare to eradicate leprosy from India. The main goal of this program was to provide more and more information about leprosy to the people, so as to reduce the risk of disability and spread due to it. It was first launched in 1955. The National Leprosy Eradication Program was launched in 1983 as a continuation of the National Leprosy Control Programme.

Pulse Polio Immunisation Programme
Pulse Polio Immunization Program (PPIP) Following the eradication of polio by the World Health Organization in 1988, India started the 1955 Pulse Polio Immunization Program, which was to provide 100% coverage of symptoms. According to the Health Ministry data, the last case of polio in the country was detected on 13 January 2011 in Howrah district of West Bengal.
